What Our Parents/Students are Saying:
Adult Students
My wife Judy and I both take lessons at Fancy Fingers Studio. It has been fantastic having Selena as a teacher. The patience she displays with us as older folks attempting to learn has been a serious blessing for both of us and we have learned much during the time we have been involved with Fancy Fingers Studio. I would highly recommend Fancy Fingers Studio to anybody who has the desire to learn to play the piano.

When I phoned you a little over a year and a half ago and w/trepidation inquired if you took on older adult students I half expected you to say no, but you were thrilled to accept another adult student, even at the age of 67 at the time. It has been fun learning to read notes again after so many years (56!) and just the right challenge to stave off brain deterioration
(dementia!). The pleasure of once again being able to play the piano is immeasurable! I thank you for your patience, your kindness and for just being you. I know God put you in my life, he does things like that!
Love, Marianne

I would like to take a minute to thank Fancy Fingers and Ms. Selena for the wonderful experience my Son Dylan, and I have had with piano lessons. Dylan started taking piano lessons with the studio at the beginning of his first grade school year. He is now going into third grade and has made great progress! He plays many songs that everyone knows and loves, he plays for our church's Sunday School every Sunday, he has played the church service special a couple of times, he has played piano at many of his school programs, and has participated at all of Fancy Fingers recitals. As you can tell I am a very proud father! All this progress after only two years of lessons. I would have to give most of the credit to Ms Selena and her teaching style, because my son is no musical prodigy, he is a rough, tuff, football, baseball, soccer player, fishing, hunting, outdoor fanatic! He only practices about 15 minutes a day, and we miss quite a few days of week practicing, because of all of his other activities. I believe Ms. Selena's way of making his lessons progressively harder, while keeping lessons fun and not too difficult is the key, she seems to know just what he can handle each week to keep him moving along without getting him discouraged. I would recommend Fancy Fingers to anyone, and I often do when my son receives compliments on his playing. I believe keeping kids busy is the best way to keep them out of trouble and that is why I try to keep Dylan into so many things, piano is at the top of this list for lots of reasons. It's good for the brain, helps him excel in his schoolwork, helps him concentrate, gets him off the video games, gives me a little time with him with no distractions, and sense of pride and joy I can see in his face when he plays a piece of music perfect that he has been working hard on.
Thank you for everything!

Anderson loves Mr. Patrick! We were struggling with Anderson wanting to quit piano. When his former instructor moved away, we came to Fancy Fingers. My husband and I were not ready to let him quit. Mr. Patrick's patience, fun loving approach and easy going personality has done wonders for my son. It is still not his favorite thing to do, however we will continue to stick with it as long as Mr. Patrick is willing to teach him. Mr Patrick knows his students and meets them where they are. Thank you for helping us through this season of life.

Selena has really helped my daughter enjoy piano again! She has been able to progress into more challenging material more quickly and has the confidence to try new songs on her own "just to see if I can play them" she says! It is so rewarding when your child begins to enjoy what she is doing and doesn't feel like it is a chore. My daughter is beginning to consider how playing the piano can be apart of her young adult life, proving that with the right teacher, it is a very valuable skill and a great investment in your child!
Both of our boys receive piano instruction from Selena. Our rising 6th grader started lessons in 2nd grade and has amazed us with both his progress and love for piano these past 4 years. Our rising 2nd grader just started lessons this summer. He is loving it so far and wants to play as well as his big brother. Selena provides instruction for both children and adults. I took lessons as an adult from her for a year having only played several months as a child. Our goal when searching for a piano instructor was to find a safe environment with a motivational and knowledgeable instructor. We found all these elements with Selena and Fancy Fingers Studio. I highly recommend Selena as a piano instructor whether you are researching lessons for yourself or your children. Now that our oldest son has a good foundation with the piano he may pick up the guitar!
Sincerely,
Beth Haffner, D.M.D.
We had a specific music goal in a specific time fram and both Patrick and Selena made it their mission to help us succeed. They took the goal on as if it was their own. Success followed thanks to them. They are truly two of the most caring piano teachers we have had the pleasure to work with.
